How the Shot Analyzer Works
Select the apparent hit location on a deer diagram and the Shot Analyzer provides general guidance on possible organ or tissue involvement, a suggested waiting period before tracking, expected deer behavior after the shot, and a general recovery outlook. The Shot Analyzer is an educational decision-support tool — it is not a guarantee of shot placement or recovery.

- Double-lung (high confidence recovery)
- Single-lung or partial lung
- Liver shot (wait before tracking)
- Gut shot (extended wait required)
- Shoulder or muscle hit
- Neck or head
- Brisket or low hit
- Unsure of hit location
Why Wait Time Matters
Tracking too soon after a liver or gut shot can push a mortally wounded deer farther than it would have traveled if left undisturbed. The Shot Analyzer provides suggested waiting guidance based on the selected hit area to help hunters make deliberate, informed decisions before taking a step.
