Rut Phases Covered
- Pre-Rut: Bucks begin scraping and rubbing, establishing territory and signaling readiness.
- Seeking Phase: Bucks actively search for does approaching estrus. Daylight movement increases.
- Chasing Phase: Does begin cycling and bucks pursue them aggressively. Some of the best stand hunting of the year.
- Peak Rut (Lockdown): Bucks find estrous does and may disappear for 24 to 72 hours. Hunting can slow temporarily.
